Warning:
Tell your healthcare provider if you get a lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or shortness of breath. These may be symptoms of thyroid cancer. In studies with rats, Zepbound and medicines that work like Zepbound caused thyroid tumors, including thyroid cancer. It is not known if Zepbound will cause thyroid tumors, or a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) in people. Do not take Zepbound if you or any of your family have ever had MTC or if you have an endocrine system condition called Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

NARRATOR: Zepbound is an injectable prescription medicine that may help adults with obesity, or some adults with overweight who also have weight-related medical problems, to lose excess body weight and keep the weight off. It may also help adults with moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and obesity to improve their OSA. It should be used with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Zepbound contains tirzepatide and should not be used with other tirzepatide-containing products or any GLP-1 receptor agonist medicines. It is not known if Zepbound is safe and effective for use in children.
01:11-1:56
NARRATOR: Select Safety Information Warning. Tell your healthcare provider if you get a lump or
swelling in your neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or shortness of breath. These may be symptoms of thyroid
cancer. In studies with rats, Zepbound and medicines that work like Zepbound caused thyroid tumors, including
thyroid cancer. It is not known if Zepbound will cause thyroid tumors, or a type of thyroid cancer called
medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) in people. Do not take Zepbound if you or any of your family have ever had MTC
or if you have an endocrine system condition called Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

Zepbound along with diet and exercise and I’ve lost significant weight and I have kept it off.

loss—whether taking the 5-mg, 10-mg, or 15-mg dose.*†
Zepbound is not for
cosmetic weight loss.
*Along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical
activity.
†Individual results may vary. In studies, average weight loss in adults with or
without diabetes was ~15% (34 lbs) on 5 mg, ~13-20% (28-44 lbs) on 10 mg, and ~15-21% (33-48 lbs) on 15 mg
compared to ~3% (7 lbs) on placebo. Avg. baseline weights were ~220-233 Ibs.

Hello everyone, I'm Doctor Lydia Alexander. I am a board-certified internal medicine and obesity specialist and

the field of chronic weight management and improving the lives of patients affected by the disease of
obesity.

Why don’t we get started.
03:05-03:12
[Animated green logo transitions to Tim Bo on screen talking to camera. “What are some
myths about obesity? Appears in sidebar and remains until the end of the question.]
TIM BO: So, is the
only thing an adult with obesity needs to do to lose weight, and keep it off, is put their mind to it?
03:12-03:26
[Animated green logo transitions to Dr. Alexander on screen talking to camera]
DR.
ALEXANDER: Despite the reality that obesity is a complex disease, many believe that obesity is the result of
poor choices and a lack of willpower. But the science says otherwise. Obesity is a disease with many causes,
including
03:26-03:34
[White fade to animated icons]
DR. ALEXANDER: our genes, mental health and wellbeing,
environment, society and culture, behavior, and our body’s
03:34-03:49

DR. ALEXANDER: processes.
Though some people start losing weight with diet and exercise alone, many can’t keep off the weight they
lose. It can be extremely challenging—and can leave you feeling stuck. The problem?
03:49-03:57
[White fade to animated icons]
DR. ALEXANDER: When you start to lose weight, your
body may respond by resisting and making you hungrier. It’s why keeping the weight off can be so
difficult.
03:57-04:19
[White fade to Dr. Alexander on screen talking to camera]
DR. ALEXANDER: So to answer
your question—no—not everyone can lose weight when they want to, even if they’re eating a
healthy diet and working out. That’s why having chronic weight management medications along with a
reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity may be a good option for those adults to discuss with their
healthcare providers.
04:19-04:41
[Animated green logo transitions to Dr. Alexander on screen talking to camera]
DR.
ALEXANDER: It's important to also remember that everyone is unique. Everybody has individual challenges with
obesity. Zepbound—along with diet and exercise—may be a tool that helps patients to lose weight and
keep it off. But always remember to consult with your doctor to decide if Zepbound is right for
you.
CAPTION: Zepbound is an injectable prescription medicine that may help
adults with obesity, or with excess weight (overweight) who also have weight-related medical problems, lose weight
and keep it off. Zepbound should be used with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
04:41-04:45
[Transition to Tim Bo on screen talking to camera “How does Zepbound work?” Appears
in sidebar and remains until the end of the question.]
TIM BO: Can you explain how Zepbound
works?
04:45-05:12
[Transition to Dr. Alexander on screen talking to camera]
DR. ALEXANDER: Zepbound is
the first and only obesity treatment of its kind and it works differently from other chronic weight management
medications by working with your body to activate the receptors of two naturally-occurring hormones known as GIP
and GLP-1. Why does this matter? I usually tell my patients—Zepbound reduces appetite and food intake. In
short, it reduces your desire for food and how much you eat.
CAPTION: GIP is
glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide. GLP-1 is glucagon-like peptide-1.
05:12-05:15
[Transition to Tim Bo on screen talking to camera “Does injection location matter?”
Appears in sidebar and remains until the end of the question.]
TIM BO: Does it matter where I inject
Zepbound?
05:15-05:36
[Transition to Dr. Alexander on screen talking to camera]
DR. ALEXANDER: Zepbound
must be injected subcutaneously—or under the skin—but only in the stomach, thigh, or upper arm. You
or another person can inject the medicine in your stomach or thigh. Another person should give you the injection
in the back of your upper arm. And remember to note on a weekly basis the site you use.
CAPTION: Read the Instructions for Use that comes with Zepbound.
05:36-05:39
[Transition to Tim Bo on screen talking to camera “Why recall injection site?”
Appears in sidebar and remains until the end of the question.]
TIM BO: Why do I need to remember where
Zepbound was injected?
05:41-05:58
[Transition to Dr. Alexander on screen talking to camera]
DR. ALEXANDER: Good
question. Because, although you may use the same “area” of your body, it’s important to rotate
your injection site each week. So, be sure to choose a different injection site in that area. Your doctor can
also help you with making these choices to ensure they are right for you.
CAPTION: Read the Instructions for Use that comes with Zepbound.
05:59-06:03
[Transition to Tim Bo on screen talking to camera “Who is a candidate for Zepbound?”
Appears in sidebar and remains until the end of the question.]
TIM BO: Another common question is, am
I someone who should take Zepbound?
06:04-06:51
[Transition to Dr. Alexander on screen talking to camera]
DR. ALEXANDER: Good
question. The first thing I’d recommend…it’s important to discuss this with a doctor who
knows your personal health history.
You should also learn everything you can about Zepbound, an
injectable prescription medication to help adults with a body mass index [BMI] of 30 or greater. Or, a BMI of 27
or greater with a weight-related medical condition, such as high blood pressure, lipid disorders, and type 2
diabetes.
How do you determine your BMI? You can easily find online calculators that will help you. All you
need to know is your height and weight. Once you know your BMI, talk to your doctor; together, you can decide if
Zepbound is right for you.
CAPTION: Zepbound is an injectable prescription medicine that
